Two-piece back of flamed maple, with two rows of purfling of geometrical design indicative of Barak Norman's gambas. Ribs of flamed maple. Two-piece spruce belly with wings and two rows of purfling, and stamped with an abstract fleur-de-lis pattern, also typical of the Norman school. Wide English C-holes, slightly beveled on the inside. Flamed maple neck, probably not original, which is narrower than the fingerboard. Evidence of modification at butt of neck. Elaborately carved and decorated lion's head pegbox, bordered with ivory strips. Fingerboard and tailpiece have walnut burl panelling with walnut border. Elaborate ebony hookbar. Six strings are wound on pegs with wide, short heads. Brown varnish. No label.
