Back is of two pieces of quartersawn wood, with no curl pattern. The grain of the table is unusual: the right half begins at the joint very fine-grained, then widens sharply to the edge; the left begins medium-wide, narrows sharply, then widens again to the edge. The rib of the lower bout is of a single piece.
Printed label reads: "[G]aspar Lorenzini / Fecit Placentiæ 1757", with the initial "G" enlarged into a monogram bordered in a square field. To the right of the text is inscribed a figure of a heart with an arrow emerging from the top, and the initials "G * L / P" inside.
